Nad knihami bratrů Bangových a Elišky Tanzer: Vykročení k literárnímu mainstreamu?

Abstrakt

The review article presents a content analysis of three autobiographical books 
written by young Romani authors published in 2021–2022. All three authors share  
the need to come to terms with the traumas of their youth and the desire to achieve 
a better position than the one reserved for them by the “society” or circumstances at 
the beginning of their careers. This text explores the extent to which the  authors 
approach their autobiographical writing from a critical sociological point of view 
and whether they succeed in identifying and describing the social mechanisms 
that have pushed and kept the Roma on the margins of society. At the same time,  
it touches on the question of whether the three books can be perceived as a step 
of Romani writing towards mainstream literature.
